WHAT'S NEW

 

Shambaugh Award Finalist -- MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN was selected as a finalist for the 2006 Shambaugh Award, which honors a book chosen by the State Historical Society of Iowa for "its contribution to knowledge about Iowa history."

Amelia Bloomer Project List -- MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN was one of ten nonfiction books selected for the 2006 Amelia Bloomer Project List and recommended nationwide for students in grades 9-12 by the Social Responsibilities Roundtable of the American Library Association.   The criteria for selection included "significant feminist content; excellence in writing; appealing format; age appropriateness for young readers."

In the Classroom -- MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN has been assigned to students in colleges and universities in the following subject areas:   Composition, Law, Literature, Women's Studies, and American Studies.

On the Road --Since the publication of MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN in the spring of 2005, the authors have given readings and presentations in Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee, Massachusetts, and Texas, including appearances at the Virginia Festival of the Book and the Southern Kentucky Book Fest.
